Not so hard - feeling good

Well I have lost weight. Starting at 134.7 and I am at 131. I eat all I want I just stick with a vegan diet. I hope this will get my cholesterol levels down.
Jessica and Anna and I are going to each put $100 in a pot. If we exercise 30 min. each day, we can take $5 out. If you skip exercising, the other person keeps your money. We are starting the 1st of September. Hopefully, that will keep me motivated to do the exercise.
Sad news yesterday. Erica Jacobson Moore's husband, Andy, died unexpectantly. Erica is my great niece. So sad. Andy was a very nice young man.
Ron gets home tomorrow from his Sturgis trip - I miss him.

Finally made the decision

Well, I started and sputtered and started again...lose a couple...gain a couple. However, I went and had my blood cholesterol levels checked and they were way too high. The Doctor knows I don't want to take medicine so we agreed I had 6 months to get it under control. The best way to lower cholesterol is to eat a vegan diet...which is what I started this past week...so far it has not been hard. I have already lost 2 lbs. I am also suppose to exercise daily...not doing as well on that front yet.
Luckily, my garden is producing wonderful corn on the cob, tomatoes, cucumbers. peppers, zuchinni, and onions so the vegetables have been delicious. I want to make this my way of life and have it last forever not just the 6 months. I am excited to see what the blood results will be in 6 months. I need to get my over-all cholesterol number down from 261 and my ldl down from 175. I can do this!
Ron is being really supportive.

Ok - I need to really start to take care of my health. I keep saying I will watch what I eat and begin to exercise, but each day I find an excuse. I can tell that my clothes are tighter, but more than that - I don't feel as limber and healthy as I did a couple years ago. I was hoping that if I wrote on a blog - I might keep myself a little more accountable. Today, was Brent Thurston's funeral and I was in charge of the luncheon. I ate about a cup of some high calorie casserole, a roll with butter, some m & m's and a piece of cake. For breakfast I had a fried egg, and a sausage & potato mixture. I also had a small piece of bread with jelly. As you can see, not a great day for food. Also no exercise. Tomorrow I begin! I am going to follow the weight watchers program. And I am going to walk 30 min. a day (4 days a week)...either treadmill or outside...the weather is starting to feel a little like spring again. I want to feel good again....I don't have illusions of being a skinny young girl...I am 58 years old. I just want to be a proper weight and feel like my body is moving and functioning at its optimum.
